Hago presente que para esta nota, se tomo parte de una entrevista efectuada por el Sr. Martin Holmes e información extraída de la pagina oficial de Andreas Mikkelsen.
Este joven piloto noruego nació el 22 de Junio de 1989, pero tiene ya con 18 años algunos importantes record difíciles de igualar o superar.
Andreas tuvo su presentación en la sociedad del Rally Internacional al debutar en Julio de 2006 en un Ford Focus WRC navegado por Ola Floeene, ganando el Rally de Gran Bretaña el año recién pasado con tan solo 17 años, pero hacia dos días que los había cumplido.

Otro situación anecdotica es que el estudia en el Colegio Noruego de Atletas y se vislumbraba para la elite del esqui, pero producto de una lesión en su rodilla llega al mundo del Rally. Sus palabras sobre esta parte de su vida es:
"Siempre he estado interesado en los rallys, pero todo se dio la vuelta a principios de diciembre de 2005, cuando tuve una lesión de rodilla que detuvo en seco mi carrera en el esquí. Sólo por divertirme, probé un coche de rallys en un lago en Dagali, Noruega, y me enganchó al instante. En ese momento supe que correr rallyes era exactamente lo que quería hacer. Los rallys en Noruega no es que fueran muy populares hasta que los hermanos Solberg salieron a escena y llegaran a lo más alto. Por muchos años ha sido un deporte olvidado, y la gente no sabe mucho sobre ellos. Cuando Petter y Henning llegaron, se hizo mucho más interesante para nosotros, pero no hay mucha historia antes de los Solberg en nuestro país".
